Within the first half of 2013 Russia produced up to 3.8% more plywood in comparison with the same period of 2012 year. Contrariwise hardboard production reduced to 9.8%

In May 2013 plywood import in USA reduced to 18% in comparison with the same period of 2012. China and Indonesia significantly decreased plywood sales to this market

Implementing the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR) in the furniture sector is probably more pronounced than in any other sector. Much of the wood content of a furniture item may be hidden, particularly in upholstered products. There has been some consolidation in the international furniture industry in recent years – particularly driven by IKEA in Europe – but the sector remains very fragmented compared to many other industrial sectors.

Within June 2013 hardboard production in Belarus decreased to 18.3% in comparison with the same period of 2012. Within January-June, 2013 hardboard production in Russia also decreased to 9.8% in comparison with the same period of the previous year.
