Within January-May, 2016 timber production in Ukraine increased to 17.2% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. Plywood production decreased to 8.4%, wood panel production – to 4.9%, veneer production increased to 12.1%. Parquet production increased to 21.6%

 

In March 2016 timber export in Russia increased to 6% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. The main reason was Russian ruble devaluation and decrease of domestic market demand. The main market for Russian timber (wood panel, plywood, OSB) is China (28%).

Within January-April, 2016 timber production in Russia decreased to 6.2% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. Plywood production increased to 1.1%, veneer production decreased to 7.8%

Within January-April, 2016 timber production in Ukraine increased to 21.7% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. Plywood production decreased to 7.9%, wood panel production – to 4.3%, veneer production increased to 9.9%. Parquet production increased to 13.8%

In March 2016 timber export in Russia increased to 6% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. The main reason was Russian ruble devaluation and decrease of domestic market demand. The main market for Russian timber (wood panel, plywood, OSB)  stays China (28%).

Within 2015 Chinese plywood export reduced to 8% in comparison with the 2014 (5% in value terms). The main markets in 2015 year were the USA (17%), UAE (6.8%), Great Britain (6.7%), Japan (6.2%), South Korea (6.1%), the Philippines (5.6%), Saudi Arabia (4.6%)

Within January-February, 2016 far-abroad export of Belarusian wooden panels showed 11.2% increase in comparison with the same period of the previous year. The main export markets were Italy, Bulgaria, Iran, Macedonia, Denmark, Poland, Latvia.

Within January-March, 2016 timber production in Russia decreased to 8.4% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. Plywood production increased to 1.8%, veneer production decreased to 17.5%

Consumption of laminated wooden panels in the USA is expected to increase to 2.5% yearly. By 2020 consumption volume is expected in amount around 1 billion m2. The reason of increasing demand for laminated panels and plywood is expanded usage of furniture, flooring, finishing 

Dubai WoodShow, the largest exhibition in the Middle East for timber, machineries and equipment,  will take place in UAE in April, 2016. The United Arabic Emirates is the home of nearly 36% of the furniture factories. The last year showed the growth in the domestic furniture sector and increase in demand for imported timber from global and regional markets.
