In 2015 timber production in Finland decreased

26.10.2015

In 2015 timber production in Finland decreased to 3-4% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. It was caused mainly by a slow pace in building and construction sector and euro rate to Russian ruble and Swedish krona. It is expected that because of over abundant supply of timber products

(plywood, chipboard, hardboard, OSB, etc.) on the most markets export volume will decrease to 1-2%. In 2016 timber demand on internal and external markets will show moderate growth. Besides that, start-up of new production capacities in Finland in 2016 will increase plywood output to 4-6%
